Ryan Mason's horrible injury
Hull city's midfielder Ryan Mason is forced to retire from football due to a horrible head injury after a collision with Gary Cahill leading to a fracture of his skull.
As Chelsea's top player Cahill collided with Mason during the game between Hull City and Chelsea, Mason was sent straight to the hospital for an emergency surgery as his skull had been fractured. This game was played 22nd of January 2017 which is more than a year ago, however, after several trainings and hard work Masons decision is to quit his football career due to the long recovery time and the pressure from the club. After the skull fracture people were saying that "He was lucky to be alive".
Chelsea as well as Cahill tweeted out that they wish Ryan luck in the future on whatever he decides to do.
In my opinion it is really sad to see a player have to retire due to an injury so severe. Imagine all the childhood dreams and all the hard work that Mason has put into during his youth. After his dream of playing professional football gets his skull fractured during a collision in the penalty in the penalty box is devastating. Even though Mason was not a very famous player and was not known by many people it is still sad seeing a footballer retire from this. Best of luck for Ryan Mason in the future!
